PARENTING
Welcome to the 2013-14 school year!
I hope that you are feeling refreshed and that you had the opportunity to spend time with your family and friends.
An exciting year lies ahead for you at Shared Journeys. We will continue to explore our personal talents and learning styles to match careers that may be of interest. There will be multiple opportunities to investigate careers through job shadows, fieldtrips and college visits. You will be actively involved in the community learning about services to support you and your family as well as ways you can get involved as a community member and citizen. Moreover, we will continue to explore mindfulness and implement this throughout our day. In addition, family nights and weekends have been planned to help with you with positive and involved parenting. Also, our school website, facebook page, twitter and blog are up and running and will be excellent resources and communication tools. Furthermore, through the use of our technology, you will have the opportunity to learn, collaborate and work within our courses 24/7. Finally, each of you will be assigned a mentor as an extra powerful person in your life to help you toward academic and parenting success.
